Building Codes Administration
As a specialty application of civil engineering, REO Engineering has acted as the Building Official
and/or City Engineer for numerous western Missouri and eastern Kansas cities. The practice of
legal/administrative engineering has made us conversant in all the major building codes,
including the IBC (International Building Code), now under adoption by most jurisdictions.
Our work with cities has also brought us expertise in zoning laws and codes, including:
- TIF (tax increment financing),
- Neighborhood improvement districts,
- Community improvement districts
- Sanitary sewer districting,
- Plan review for codes compliance
